Retribution Paladin Macros 5.0.5

Time to talk about some macros. For those new to the paladin craft - macros are sets of instructions that allow us to bundle a bunch of abilities under one key. Why are they important? We have sets of actions we need to perform often and in defined sequence, at the same time we want to be effective about doing it and hopefully we don't want to suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome!

So here's how you go about making you Retribution paladin macros in Mists of Pandaria!

0. Bread and butter

  • #showtooltip
  • /castsequence Crusader Strike,Judgment
  • #showtooltip
  • /cast [nomod] Templar's Verdict;  [mod:alt] Inquisition
Used to pack those abilities into one.

1. Hand Mouseover Macros

  • #showtooltip Hand of Protection
  • /stopcasting
  • /cast [@mouseover] Hand of Protection
  • #showtooltip Hand of Salvation
  • /stopcasting
  • /cast [@mouseover] Hand of Salvation
  • #showtooltip Hand of Freedom
  • /stopcasting
  • /cast [@mouseover] Hand of Freedom
  • #showtooltip Hand of Sacrifice
  • /stopcasting
  • /cast [@mouseover] Hand of Sacrifice
These macros allow you to cast your various hand spells on the target you are currently mousing over. Stopcasting is in place to ensure that you do not delay casting any of these spells due to a cast already in progress.

2. Lay on Hands mouseover macro

  • #showtooltip Lay on Hands
  • /stopcasting
  • /cast [@mouseover] Lay on Hands
This is a lifesaver when say boss it at 1%, healers are dead and tank is low! Must have!

  • #showtooltip Rebuke
  • /stopcasting
  • /cast [@focus,exists][] Rebuke
This macro will stop your current spell cast and cast Rebuke on your focus target, if you have one. Otherwise, it will cast Rebuke on your current target.
