How to play Retribution in 5.0.5

Mists of Pandaria 5.0.5 was a class cataclysm. Our spec trees were destroyed, glyphs reworked, abilities changed. This article is aimed at giving you the "need-to-know" information on not just surviving the expansion, but actually doing good as retribution paladin.

My name is Saintlyn, I am a paladin with <Zug Life> - Cho'gall-US. I will be your class guide for the day.
Let's begin, shall we?

Level 90 - Accomplished! On to tanking... Wait.. Tanking?

Hi everyone!
Saintlyn here with a small update! Level 90 - finally! I did the last part of leveling (88-90) by questing. According to my calculations, I had to complete 100 quests per level. Lucky for me Pandaria has a lot of NPCs that need your help! As long as you select a zone of your level.

Pre-Mists Retribution Guide

World of Warcraft 5.0.5 rolled in to the live servers, and here is my input about the state of retribution in the new expansion.

Spec

If everything stays the way it currently is, the only real choice retribution paladins have to make when it comes to spec is on level 75, tier 5 talent. That is the only thing that directly affects your DPS. It is a hard choice indeed.

  • Holy Avenger Icon Holy Avenger is a 2-minute cooldown that, for 18 seconds, causes your abilities that generate Holy Power to deal 30% additional damage and healing, and to generate 3 charges of Holy Power, instead of 1.
  • Divine Purpose Icon Divine Purpose gives your abilities that cost Holy Power a 25% chance to cause your next Holy Power-costing ability cost no Holy Power and be cast as if you had 3 charges of Holy Power.

Retribution Paladin Macros 5.0.5

Time to talk about some macros. For those new to the paladin craft - macros are sets of instructions that allow us to bundle a bunch of abilities under one key. Why are they important? We have sets of actions we need to perform often and in defined sequence, at the same time we want to be effective about doing it and hopefully we don't want to suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome!

So here's how you go about making you Retribution paladin macros in Mists of Pandaria!
